In contrast to conventional UV filters, which are produced by electron beam coating, the ASAHI Spectra UV shortpass filters achieve higher transmission values in the passband range and an extended blocking range up to approx. 700nm. In addition, ASAHI Spectra UV shortpass filters are more resistant to environmental influences. These outstanding properties are possible due to the use of monolithic quartz glass substrates in combination with state-of-the-art magnetron sputtering technology.

The short pass filters are available in two standard sizes:
- Round with 25mm diameter or
- Square 50x50mm
