RS-50 VF Projection Light Source

The RS-50 VF is mainly used to generate homogeneous irradiance at a distance of 6 to 30 meters or for illumination of areas with up to 50 cm in diameter. The light source is absolutely calibrated for a fixed distance. From a distance of approx. 6 metres, the RS-50 VF can be regarded as a point light source, so that the illumination and irradiance are indirectly proportional to the square of the distance.

Of course, this projection lamp can also be used uncalibrated, for example to illuminate a wide variety of materials. The color temperature of CIE Illuminant A is 2856 +/- 20 K. The RS-4 from Gamma Scientific is recommended as a constant current source.

Typical applications are calibration of spectroradiometers, radiometers and photometers, reflection and transmission measurements and illumination of various surfaces.
