RS-12DN NVIS Calibration Light Source
The RS-12DN is a NIST traceable white light standard for radiance or luminance. Using a separate filter, the unit can be converted to a light source for NVIS display simulation. This simulates green light from cockpit displays and additionally outputs a certain level in the NIR range to which a spectroradiometer or radiometer can be calibrated. The light source is calibrated for the range 380 nm to 1100 nm. The color temperature is about 2856 K +/-25 K. The diffuse scattering output port produces approximately light of constant radiance with a homogeneity of +/-3%.
Typical applications are NVIS test and calibration, calibration of spectroradiometers, radiometers, photometers and detectors.
