AvaSoft X – The new generation of spectroscopy software from Avantes

With AvaSoft X, Avantes introduces the next generation of its proven spectroscopy software. The new platform was specifically designed to make modern measurement and analysis workflows in laboratories, industry, and OEM applications even more efficient, intuitive, and flexible.
AvaSoft X supports the entire spectroscopic workflow—from instrument control and data acquisition to monitoring, visualization, and advanced data analysis. While the software builds on years of experience with AvaSoft, it has been completely restructured to make workflows clearer and more user-friendly.

Workflow-based mini-apps for maximum efficiency

The new software organizes functions into so-called “mini-apps,” each tailored to specific measurement or analysis tasks. This brings configuration, measurement, and evaluation together within a consistent workflow.
Available modules include:

• Spectrum – Spectral measurement and visualization
• TimeSeries – Time-resolved measurements and monitoring
• Color – Colorimetry and analysis
• ThinFilm – Film thickness measurement
• Irradiance – Irradiance and light measurement
• Raman – Raman spectroscopy
• LIBS – Element analysis with an integrated periodic table
• Chemometry – Advanced chemometric data analysis

Intuitive operation and a modern user interface

AvaSoft X was developed to significantly simplify daily work. Step-by-step wizards, predefined configurations, and built-in instructional videos make it easy to get started and standardize measurement procedures. The modern dark-mode interface is ideal for use in light-sensitive laboratory environments or production facilities.

Advanced analysis features and Python scripting

For demanding applications, AvaSoft X provides direct access to advanced analysis tools such as LIBS and chemometrics functions. In addition, the TimeSeries app allows for the integration of Python scripts to automate measurement workflows and customize them to meet specific customer requirements.

Future-proof software platform

While existing installations of AvaSoft 8 will continue to be supported, future software development will focus entirely on AvaSoft X. In doing so, Avantes is creating a modern and scalable platform for future spectroscopy applications and new instrument series.

AvaSoft X is available in various license tiers:

• Basic – includes the Spectrum app
• Full – including spectrum, time series, Raman, and LIBS
• All – full access to all available mini-apps
