Amplified photodetectors (PDA030)

The PDA030 from MOGLabs is an amplified silicon photodetector designed for demanding low-noise applications such as Pound-Drever-Hall Optical Cavity Locking. It offers a high bandwidth (adjustable depending on the used photodiode), high quantum efficiency and low-noise photodetection in a practical mechanical housing with a small footprint (43 mm x 65 mm x 22 mm incl. connection and SM1).
The signal with an impedance of 50Ω is provided via a BNC connector, which is isolated to avoid ground loops across the optical table. Power is supplied via a Thorlabs-compatible M8 connector, which can be powered by the fast MOGLabs FSC servo controller or a Thorlabs LDS12B. Optics, filters and lenses can be easily mounted using the standard threaded ring SM1.

Features

  • Measured bandwidth >30 MHz
  • Wide spectral sensitivity from 300 – 1060 nm
  • High quantum efficiency 0.64 at 900 nm
  • Insulated BNC connection to prevent ground loops via the housing
  • Standard M8 current connection for ±7V to ±15V
  • SM1 (1.035″-40) internal thread for optical tube
  • M4/8-32 threaded holes for easy installation

Applications

  • PDH laser frequency stabilization
  • Suppression of intensity noise
