Fizeau Wavemeter (FZW)
The FZW uses an internal Fizeau interferometer as the basis for precise spectral measurements over the entire wavelength range of the silicon detector (350 nm – 1120 nm) without recalibration and up to 1280 nm on request. The typical spectral resolution is around 10 MHz with an accuracy of approximately 200 MHz. The measurements and calculations are performed on the device and the results are displayed on the screen, so no host computer is required.
The small footprint makes the device an easy-to-use analysis tool. It can be powered either via USB, a DC plug-in power supply unit or an external battery. An analogue output can be used for wavelength monitoring or laser stabilization via a built-in PID controller.
Ethernet and USB interfaces enable easy integration into existing control systems (LabVIEW, MATLAB and Python drivers are supplied) using simple text-based commands. The supplied software suite has a full range of functions, including long-term measurement and modehop-free scan range measurement. A simple recalibration procedure at the touch of a button with an additional external reference source compensates for any long-term drift. The external triggering and wide bandwidth mode enable use with pulsed lasers.
Compact two-, four- and eight-channel fiber switches are available that use MEMS technology for virtually unlimited life and fast switching. Each channel has its own 16-bit DAC to control the laser frequency.
