Accessories for Raman spectrometers
A wide range of accessories is available for Lightnovo Raman spectrometers. Below, we present the standard probes and extensions that are available.
All accessories are compatible with all Lightnovo Raman spectrometers—whether you are using a miniRaman, an RG Raman, or a model from the PRO series.

Distance Probe
Middle Distance Probe
The Middle Distance Probe is the standard probe for Lightnovo Raman spectrometers. The probe has a numerical aperture (NA) of 0.2 and a working distance (WD) of 10 mm. Thanks to the continuously adjustable spacer ring, the measurement distance can be flexibly adjusted. This probe is highly recommended, as calibration is performed using this model as standard.
Short Distance Probe Variable
The Short Distance Probe Variable has a numerical aperture (NA) of 0.64 and a variable working distance (WD) ranging from 0 to 2500 µm. The measurement distance can be adjusted as needed, but this requires a special adjustment tool.
Long Distance Probe
The Long Distance Probe has a numerical aperture (NA) of 0.1 and a working distance (WD) of 25 mm. The measurement distance can be easily and precisely adjusted using the scaled, adjustable distance ring.
Contact Probe
Contact Probe Variable
The Contact Probe Variable features a continuously adjustable working distance with a main scale marked in 50 µm increments and a secondary scale marked in 10 µm increments, a numerical aperture of 0.6, and a working distance ranging from 0 to 300 µm. This probe is equipped with a sapphire window. Applications include skin analysis, such as determining water content or the penetration depth of creams; measurements of powders through plastic bags; the analysis of plastics and multilayer polymers; the identification of minerals beneath surface layers; and material identification at various depths.
Contact Probe Fixed
The Contact Probe Fixed has a numerical aperture of 0.6 and is available with either a working distance of 50 µm or 100 µm. This probe does not include a sapphire window.
Contact Probe Adjustable
If an adjustable working distance is required, the Contact Probe Adjustable is suitable, with a numerical aperture of 0.6 and an adjustable working distance ranging from 0 to 2500 µm. This probe requires an adjustment tool to set the distance and features a sapphire window.
Additional accessories
Extender
The extender is installed between the Raman probe and the Raman spectrometer and extends the range of the measurement system. This allows measurements to be taken even at hard-to-reach or distant measurement points, such as inside an opaque vessel.
Disposable probe cover
The disposable probe covers are placed directly over the Raman probe and serve to protect the probe during measurement, for example from aggressive analytes that could damage the sapphire window. Since the probe covers are single-use, cross-contamination between different samples is reliably prevented. At the same time, in many applications, the time-consuming task of cleaning the probe after each measurement is eliminated. The Contact Probe Covers do not interfere with the Raman measurement.
Microscope
In addition to the various microscope objectives compatible with Lightnovo’s Raman spectrometers, there is a mechanical focusing stage and a camera option (OMM).
Microscope Focusing Stage
The mechanical focusing stage enables the use of a portable Raman spectrometer in applications where precise focusing on the sample is required or where multiple samples need to be routinely analyzed under identical measurement conditions. Manual XYZ positioners allow samples to be aligned flexibly and precisely. The system is suitable for analyzing a wide variety of sample types and can be used for both solid and liquid phases.
OMM Tube
Using the OMM Tube from Lightnovo, the RG spectrometer can be equipped with a camera. This allows images of the sample under examination to be captured. We recommend using the focusing stage and a lens for this purpose.
