Thanks to its compact size (12 × 14 × 10 cm³) and a design that requires no additional optical components and is therefore alignment-free, this device can be used in environments with limited space. Despite its miniaturization, this spectrometer offers high measurement speed, high spectral resolution, a large dynamic range, and fast spectrum acquisition without performance loss, as well as plug-and-play functionality, temperature stability, standardized PM fiber coupling, and compatibility with all common microscopes.

Alba is suitable for non-destructive and label-free biochemical measurements where viscosity and stiffness are required, for example in the characterization of living cells and tissues as well as their changes.
