Color measurements with the new absorption module from Goyalab

by Kathrin Beckstein

Absorption measurements in the visible range have been possible for quite some time with the IndiGo from Goyalab. But what if you want not only the measurements, but also the evaluation to be fast, efficient and mobile in operation?

with significantly more complex and expensive measurement methods. In the software, spectra can now be selected and dragged directly into the Colorimetry area, where, in addition to the position in the CIE diagram, the color coordinates and a possible comparison between measurements can be obtained.
Since Goyalab is based in the Bordeaux region, an obvious cooperation quickly emerged: during the maturing process of red and rosé wines, it is regularly checked whether the color already meets the expectations of the winemakers. With the IndiGo, this measurement can now be carried out directly on site and in just a few moments.
Goyalab itself has already published a nice article on this, as this collaboration has received an award from Vinitech:

COLORIMÉTRIE Enfin un spectrocolorimètre de poche permettant de mesurer la couleur des rosés au chai.

We are also currently working on an application note for food products whose production can be monitored with the IndiGo. If you have a possible application, we look forward to talking to you!
