Terahertz (THz) Raman Spectroscopy with the RG PRO

by Kathrin Beckstein

When terms such as “crystal structures,” “phase transitions,” and “Raman spectroscopy” come up, terahertz (THz) Raman spectroscopy could be an interesting option.

Lightnovo is expanding its portfolio into the THz range mentioned above and, with a single measurement, covers a spectral range from 20 cm⁻¹ to 4,000 cm⁻¹.
What makes it special: The access below 70 cm⁻¹ opens up new possibilities for material characterization and provides information about intermolecular and lattice vibrations. This leads to new applications, for example in the pharmaceutical industry, the semiconductor industry, and nanotechnology.

The RG PRO Spectrometer combines high spectral resolution with a good signal-to-noise ratio. With a choice of three excitation wavelengths (532 nm, 785 nm, and 830 nm), various slit sizes, and different laser power levels, it offers a high degree of flexibility in terms of resolution and signal intensity. It is compact, lightweight, and suitable for mobile use.
