Long-distance analysis: Raman from a distance

Using Lightnovo’s RG Raman spectrometer and a stand-off probe, chemical analyses can be performed noncontact over long distances.

This method is particularly useful in research, quality control, art and painting analysis, and industrial applications where the sample being examined is located at a greater distance.

Special telescopic optics and a motorized stand also enable chemical mapping, in which the surface is examined point by point and a map of the chemical composition is created. In this way, pigments, materials, and overlying layers of paint are identified and spatially localized.
